Marilyne, Symbolistik's designer, has always had a strong passion for jewelry. Growing up in Paris enhanced Marilyne's natural eye for design – she worked in Fashion as an accessories buyer, and later on, opened her own clothing store.

As an adult, Marilyne always wore a piece of jewelry as a symbol of protection, but couldn't find something that looked stylish and combined her knowledge of spirituality from different cultures around the world. This was the basis on which she started thinking about designing her own jewelry.

Her interest in mysticism has driven her to spend many years traveling to far away countries, wanting to learn about different religions. During her twenties, she studied Hinduism and Buddhism in India while spending almost a year in different Ashrams. She volunteered in a kibbutz in Israel, learned about the fascinating Japanese culture while living in Tokyo, and explored the ruins of the Inca and Maya cultures in Central and South America. From her travels, she became fascinated by the meaning of the numerous powerful symbols of protection from around the globe.

Leaving France to go to America, Marilyne studied jewelry making in New York City, which allowed her to form a concept she had in mind for a while: jewelry that would not only offer a unique sense of style, but a sense of guardianship and good luck to the person wearing it.

She eventually combined her interests in the philosophies of religions, yoga, energy work and world travels with her artistic background and her business skills to launch her own line of jewelry.

Symbolistik was born:
symbols of protection blending the sacred and ancient with modern elegance for today's men and women.
